Welsh Assembly Government
The involvement of the Welsh Assembly Government

Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru / Welsh Assembly GovernmentGetting the Opportunity Wales programme to where it is today has been quite a challenge. There is still much to do to ensure we really make a difference to the small business community, but the early findings are that the eCommerce adviser service has been very well received by our clients in the pilots and the future is looking very good. The small business owners appreciate the face to face support being provided by trained and trusted quality independent advisers who spell out in easy to understand guidance how eCommerce could help their businesses, and they are responding with enthusiasm. When delivering across the whole region over the next two years, thousands of other businesses will also benefit.

This really has been a team effort to date with all of the partners contributing in various forms. However, we would like to acknowledge the excellent support received by the Welsh Assembly Government and its subsidiary bodies since the start of the initiative.

Partners for a Broadband Wales

Key individuals in the Assembly were always prepared to listen, and when convinced, ready to offer backing and financial support to match other Partner contributions. We would not have gained approval without this Assembly commitment and is evidence of how a true and active Public/Private sector partnership can work.
