Pembrokeshire Business Initiative

PBI has 20 years experience of offering holistic business support throughout Pembrokeshire. PBI provide a quality and professional service for both business start ups and existing business development.

For new business starts, PBI assist in the business idea development, preparation of the business plan and progression to actual start-up.

For existing businesses, support encompasses business development and expansion advice, assistance for finance packaging including grants and debt finance, diagnostic reviews, business planning, marketing plans and research, ICT and eCommerce development as well as skills training and development, referring to external organisations whenever appropriate.   

Alongside its general support facility PBI offer specialised support through its sectorial advisor working with the various agri food initiatives and grants.   PBI also deliver the Contract Shop initiative which serves to bring together local buyers and suppliers to maximise benefit to the local business community, providing an information network to local businesses in the county about both public and private sector contracts and a brokerage service available to all businesses.

PBI’s ICT Centre was opened in 1996 as part of an integrated business support service to develop the use of ICT and eCommerce within SME’s in Pembrokeshire. The official ‘UK online for business’ and ‘Opportunity Wales’ eCommerce support delivery centre. The experienced eCIC, @TEB/TMB and CIM accredited advisory team offer advice and assistance with identifying how and where ICT can help individual businesses. This includes project management and implementation of solutions, step-by-step development of ICT solutions with one-to-one assistance and advice, eCommerce reviews, action plans and subsidised implementation, access to financial support and hands on implementation support for all aspects of eCommerce.
