Akamuti Organic Skincare Products

Lindsey Hedges started her home-based business, “Akamuti” in 2003. Situated in the tranquil surroundings of Llansawel near Llandeilo, she can now balance her work and family life more productively.

She makes 100% organic skincare products that look good enough to eat, and uses pure ingredients from ethical sources such as Fairtrade.

From the start Lindsey realised that eCommerce was a major priority. She and her sister created a Web site using a CD that came free with a magazine, and the results are extremely professional. Having total control over the site means she can update it whenever necessary.

She uses the Web site to showcase her goods, and also sells her products from her on-line store, which allows her to reach a worldwide market.

In the future Lindsey intends to make better use of search engine optimisation to encourage more traffic to her site.

Her tip for all budding eCommerce entrepreneurs is to build a Web site according to your budget, as it doesn’t have to cost the earth.
