Selecting a Web Page Developer
Introduction

Selecting a good Web developer can be a difficult task and one which many SMEs have had problems with. However, this "How-To" guide will, hopefully, help in the selection and decision-making procedure, by identifying the key issues any SME should have in mind as they go through this process. There are many good Web developers which Welsh SMEs can call upon, but, equally, there are others who are less skilful and taking advantage of the SME's interest in eCommerce.

Always have in mind that selecting a good Web developer will determine what the world will see when they visit your web site. Therefore, you must be very clear about the objectives that your Web site wishes to address.

To achieve these objectives it is important to find a Web developer that can take these and transform them into a successful web site, rather than in to one of the many disappointing Web sites that currently exist

The issue of developing your own Web site is covered in another article on the Web site. However, if you have decided to hire a Web developer, you should already have completed your research on the different styles and formats you would like to see incorporated into your site, and have them in mind when talking to any potential developer.
