VoIP Communications for SMEs in a multi-site environment Introduction

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks have long been a common feature of the large corporate businesses who could afford expensive leased line connections. These lines have delivered large savings on both call charges, internal network infrastructure and support costs.
The increased availability of affordable broadband and awareness of new technologies has now permeated down offering the smaller business user an opportunity to employ those networks and benefit from applications such as VoIP.
