VoIP Communications for SMEs in a multi-site environment
Introduction

VoIP

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks have long been a common feature of the large corporate businesses who could afford expensive leased line connections.  These lines have delivered large savings on both call charges, internal network infrastructure and support costs.

The increased availability of affordable broadband and awareness of new technologies has now permeated down offering the smaller business user an opportunity to employ those networks and benefit from applications such as VoIP.  In our previous article we looked at its uses in a single user environment and its possible applications and benefits.

In this article we aim to take this a step further by providing the reader with the understanding of where VoIP technology can fit into their business in a multi site environment. It looks at the benefits such technology can bring along with the relevant issues they should consider.
