If you sell on-line through your Web site, please whatever you do always ensure the site is up-to-date! OK this may seem like I’m stating the obvious, but having just received an eMail from an on-line retailer to say “Thank you for your order, but unfortunately the item you have ordered is out of stock.” I suddenly become a dissatisfied customer. My blog entry “Create and Cherish Your Logo” (January 17th 2008) aimed to explain the importance a business should attach to it’s logo, and at the same time to separate the logo from the overall visual branding of the business. This approach is intended to give the business a long lasting logo and at the same time allows for regular updates of the overall visual identity of the enterprise.

Here in Opportunity Wales we firmly believe in practicising what we preach. To that end I manage around 20 different Web sites from online communities to affiliate marketing sites, from Web directories to online shops. All of these Web sites have two things in common: firstly, they all make money and secondly they all use four completely free tools which allow me to improve them.
So what are these tools and could you use them on your Web site ?

Whilst driving into work the other morning, a journey of just 25 miles from Abergavenny to Abercynon, using my WiFi equiped Windows Smartphone, an inexpensive Bluetooth GPS receiver and some free software I found and geo-located over 200 wireless access points. Of these, around 20 were unsecured. If I was one of these 20 people, I’d be worried, very worried. Let me tell you why.
